Revealed back in September, official details of Dapper Dan‘s PUMA collection and full campaign imagery has finally become available.
The footwear and apparel offering is a tribute to the hip-hop culture, more specifically the 1980s when Dapper Dan’s bespoke creations, as well as the PUMA brand, were centralized within the scene.
Dapper Dan’s signature flair for the flamboyant gets infused into the PUMA Clyde sneaker, T7 tracksuit and a selection of embellished tees. The collection sees a special monogram by the designer, echoing his logo-heavy creations.
He added, “There are many pros and exciting opportunities to come when working with legacy brands like PUMA. It allows me the time and space to work on big surprises like the one I have coming after I complete my travels to Africa.”
PUMA x Dapper Dan will also celebrate 40 years of the PUMA Clyde sneaker with their own spin. The capsule will offer a bold take on the iconic sneaker with refined details, including premium leather and jacquard, a molded metal plaque on the heel tab with an embossed co-branded logo. The shoe also has a leather form-stripe embellished with crystal finishings.
With an affinity for honoring culture and celebrating classics, the partnership emphasizes the notoriety and legacy of Dap’s signature style and his fusion of street and luxury. The joint venture will also serve as another platform for the Harlemite to infiltrate his creative expressions through apparel and footwear, as he’s always done.
Together PUMA and Dapper Dan will also honor the forty-year anniversary of the Clyde sneaker, with the designer covering the silhouette in premium leather and jacquard. Other design details include embossed co-branding and a formstripe with crystals.
The collection releases October 29 with prices ranging between $70 to $300 USD. Take a look at the offering above.
