Lil Wayne performed at the Bootsy Bellows pop-up show last night as part of Miami’s Art Basel. At one point, he brought out Drake to perform “Energy.” Drake also stuck around while he did “No Worries.” Watch snippets of both below. Earlier this year, Lil Wayne and Drake teamed up on Nicki Minaj’s new song “No Frauds”—check out their music video. He also released five new songs: “Like A Man,” “Loyalty,” “Mula Gang,” “Fireworks,” and a freestyle over Playboi Carti’s “Magnolia.” Lil Wayne recently announced that his Dedication 6 mixtape would be out this Christmas.
Lil WeezyAna Fest was initially supposed to take place on Aug. 27 for its sixth installation, however, it was delayed at the last minute. Wayne first launched the festival in 2015 to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. The last festival, in 2019, didn’t go well, with hot temperatures, vendors running out of water, and crowd surges ending in injuries. Lil WeezyAna has since been on a hiatus due to the pandemic and returned to Champions Square Saturday night.
According to Nola.com, he played an 18-minute set, where he and Wayne performed “She Will.” Drake then did renditions of “The Motto,” “In My Feelings,” “God’s Plan,” “Nonstop,” “Jimmy Cooks,” and “Knife Talk.” He also told a story about how he knew his career had taken off when he saw a guy in New Orleans selling bootleg copies of one of his first albums.
